From Avery's program notes:
"I wrote "Golf Cart" after my grandpa passed away in late 2019. When I was little he would always take my sister and me on rides in his golf cart around his neighborhood. As a kid, zooming past houses with the people I loved on this fun ride was extremely freeing, and it never failed to bring a smile to my face. I feel that this memory captures the vivacious, spontaneous, and effervescent nature of my grandpa, and I wanted to capture these things within the piece. The song starts off with a soloist in the midst of saying goodbye, and we follow the singer through a journey of remembering these fond times and finding peace in them, almost like a dream sequence. I hope that this music resonates with anyone who has lost someone close to them and wishes to hold on to those special times."
