Two moments of additional soprano divisi and one moment of tenor divisi. An Afro-Cuban 6/8 groove starts this arrangement of the Mercer/Arlen classic, and a metric modulation brings it into a fast swing for a few bars of “round, round, round I go” before grooving back into the 6/8. An up-swing solo section uses a simple, cyclical modal harmonic concept instead of the song’s chord changes (all minor chords moving up a minor 3rd at a time), and a male soloist is featured for parts of the bridge melody. This is a classic of the KerryMarsh.com catalog that has been successfully performed by many groups over the years, and has now found a home in the SheetMusicPlus Vault Collection.
