ILMEA Special Edition for students auditioning for the
2018 All-District and All-State Honor Vocal Jazz Ensembles
Instructions for ordering this music:
FULL VERSION (Electronic delivery):
If you would like to perform this arrangement with your school group, or if you have more than 12 students planning to audition, you should order the $75 flat-fee "Chart and Demo (MIXED)" option. This version, which includes all rhythm section parts, will be delivered electronically like most other products on this website. The implicit license with this order allows the purchaser to print any copy as many parts as are needed for rehearsal and performance.
VOCALS ONLY (Mail delivery):
If you have 12 or fewer students planning to audition and do NOT intend on performing the arrangement with your group, you may order individual printed octavos of just the vocal ensemble part, named "Octavo Version" here.
Please be sure to order a copy for each auditioning student by editing the quantity either on this page or at checkout. As with any order of physical sheet music from a music dealer, this product does not include permission to make additional copies beyond the number ordered. The price for this product is $5 per copy, plus shipping and handling.
When you place your order of any number of octavos, a one-time flat fee of $10 will be automatically added to your order to cover shipping and handling. Your product will be printed professionally and shipped by UNC Jazz Press.
PART LEARNING/PRACTICE TRACKS:
Regardless of which method you choose for ordering this chart, you may find Part Tracks, Part MINUS Tracks and possibly the Rhythm Track for this arrangement to be very valuable in your students' preparation for their audition. The normal price for each of these audio file collections (always delivered electronically as a zip file of all needed mp3 audio files) is $25, but I'm selling them at half-price during this IMEA auditions special.
What's the difference between each type of track?
Part Tracks: Individual voice parts (sung) with a soft rhythm section mix behind. (Sop, Sop2/Sop split, Sop2/Alto split, Alto, Tenor, Bass)
Part MINUS Tracks: The full mix of the demo MINUS the part to be practiced, so the student can become accustomed to holding their part in context, as well as blending and balancing with the other parts. (Same splits as above)
Rhythm Track: The accompaniment track, with no vocals in the mix.
If you are new to KerryMarsh.com, you may not be aware that I accept credit card payments and school checks, with or without a Purchase Order. Here are the details about each method:
Credit Card: Credit card payments are processed by Shopify Payments. When you use this method, your invoice and the link to your digital products (this doesn't include the printed octavos, which will be shipped separately) will be emailed to you right away.
Check: If you choose the "Pay later with school check (etc.)" option at checkout, your order will go through and I will be notified. As soon as I'm able to manually approve the fulfillment of your order (usually within 24 hours and often immediately), you'll receive your invoice and the link to your digital products (which, again, does not include the printed octavos). You can then use the invoice to have your school cut and mail a check.
Purchase Order: If your institution requires you to use a P.O. to make your purchase, go ahead and choose the "Pay later with school check (etc.)" option and go through the same process as the simple "check" process described above. Whenever you have the PO number in hand, contact me through this website or at kmvocaljazz (at) gmail.com to let me know the number, and I'll add it to your invoice and will then resend it for your processing.

ARRANGEMENT INFO AND DEMO
Bob Dorough's classic jazz standard is arranged in a swinging style for treble vocal jazz ensemble, including a singable but impressive soli section. No improv section written into this chart, though it could be easily added if solos are desired. An extended coda figure brings the chart to a strong conclusion, helping it serve as a good opener or closer.
